Happy Easter!

We were hoping Sunday might be the day Micah would decide to join us, but no such luck.
We had a fun eventful day regardless!
Can you tell I'm done with the whole "being pregnant" thing? :)
The Easter Bunny did a great job hiding the eggs in the Lawrence backyard. Sometimes it took a some prompting for the little ones to actually find the egg. Pure confusion from Sophia on this one. She just couldn't see the egg next to the gate handle.
Ahh... finally found it.
Emma, Sophia and Devin. So big!
Jonny defended his name as the Badminton Tourney Champion with a new partner this year.. none other than Jared Doe. They were awarded some sweet beach mats! While we watched the tournament mom commented that she felt like the ground was moving. We all sort of agreed then really agreed once the pool started splashing up on the sides! We felt the earth quake from Mexico... definitely a first for most of us!

The Easter Bunny Came to My House?!

Love the excitement and anticipation on this picture :).
She can't even believe the Easter Bunny brought her something to her house!

Micah James

Micah
Micah 6:8
He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

This verse has come to be a sort-of life verse for Jared and I in the past year. We have both really been trying to learn and live out what this means in regards to God's Kingdom here on earth.
Act Justly.
Love Mercy.
Walk Humbly.

When Jared suggested the name Micah it seemed perfect
considering where we are in life right now and where we pray our
children will follow.

James
Jared's brother, Richard's, middle name is James.
It's also my great-grandfather's middle name on dad's side.
So we're calling it a family name. :)

And Jared wants to call Micah "MJ". He thinks it's a great
professional baseball player name.

The Play Room

We decided not to put together a nursery for Micah just yet. Our third bedroom is at the front of the house right off the living area and doesn't really work well for either of the kids. We like having people over too much and I don't think any child could really sleep with all of the late night Settlers of Catan winning that the Doe's do in this house. ;) So we decided to make it a play room for now since Micah will most likely be in our room for a little bit anyways.

Here is the lamp that Christy made. Too too cute. Rumor is she may be in the business of making shades to sell. They're awesome.
I saw these decal letters on LandofNod.com. I remember working in the daycare in Indiana and how much the two year olds loved touching the letters and finding their letters and singing and saying the letters. Sophia is right on track with that. I already have videos of her running round the room singing. It's fun to watch her learn. (Thanks for the letters Aunt Koo Koo!)
The owls are big sister Sophia and "baby bruh-er" Micah. Grandma Annie loved owls too. It's a little piece of her in her great-grandkids play room. We miss her.

On a side note... Jared and I registered for those vases when we got married and haven't used them in a while. How weird that they match the bins we chose exactly?

Thank you so much friends for helping us get the house in order before Micah gets here! We all love the room!

Micah Showered with LOVE!

I guess first off I should say we have chosen a name for our Doe Boy!
Micah James
More about that in a another post...

A few friends of ours from church had a shower for us at Karie's house. It was absolutely beautiful. My friends are all way too creative, but I LOVE it! Here are some photos from the day.

This last photo will lead into the next post. Most of our Tuesday night bible study girls got together and helped us put together the front room in our house as a play room for Micah and Sophia. It makes the house feel so much bigger and I'm no longer walking on toys at all times. It's a thing of beauty! Christy made this lamp shade to hang in the room (another example of the oozing creativity!) and Shelagh helped us hang it up. Can you even wait to see the room??? :)

Bragging on the Besties...

Check out the "table3events" link under My Friends list to the right.

My very dear friends from college have started a company with a friend of theirs and I'm just so proud of them!

If you live in the Dallas area, use them at your next event! Beautiful!!

Congratulations Christen and Jennifer!
