My new job!

This past February, I ran into my great friend from high school, Lindsay. We got caught up on life. I told her we were moving to Dallas and she told me that she was planning on opening a children's clothing showroom at the Dallas Market and in need of a Showroom Manager. I said I was absolutely interested and I was hired! I didn't even have to interview! ;)

This past week I've had to chance to visit the showroom and even more fun, hang out with Lindsay, her mom and dad. It felt like being home again. :) The showroom is darling. The clothing lines are darling. I can't even wait until market! It's going to be crazy fun and a perfect part time job for this mama! It's a whole new world that I can't wait to learn about!

Getting ready for the first preview service

This Sunday will be our first preview service. We had the launch team over last Friday and we'll be getting together again tomorrow in preparation.

I'm a bit emotional this week. It's so overwhelming. Not so much the tasks that have to be completed (although there are a LOT of those), but more just "It's really happening!" I feel like we've spent the past year in transition and waiting for the next steps. I knew once our two trips were over and the Seaton's moved down it was gone be "go time", and it has been. Our life went from 0 to 100 in a week. I love it. Our house was upside down for a few days, but I think it's all coming together and I'm catching up, physically and emotionally. There is an amazing group of people who are dedicated to see this church get off to a healthy start. Here's a little peek into the foundations of Frisco Fields.

Follow Up

I will follow up and tell you that I've completed my application and volunteer training for Traffick911. Not sure what's next, but I'll share once I know. And yes I did read the book and yes it sucked. I'm having nightmares. I figure if children have to live it, a nightmare to remind me isn't so bad.

Dallas Moms Blog

I tend to have the radio on lot more here than I did in AZ. I didn't really notice it, until Sophia started humming, or "singing" some top 40 tunes. She picks up on the melodies... not so much the words. Which, in hindsight, is most definitely best. I'll have to start watching what comes on the radio now!

Crawls up the stairs and was really good at coming down on his tummy,

until he thought he should be able to just walk down them.

Loves to brush his FOUR teeth. That's it. four.

Likes to read, play catch with dad, throw the ball, play with cars,

be tickled by mama, and follow Sophia anywhere.

The Robertsons

Fresh off our return from Washington we were able to see my step-brother Jeremy, sister-in-law Kathryn, nephew Casey and for the very first time my new nephew Keagan! I'm proud to say that Casey loves his Aunt Marcie! :) It's so hard being spread out across the country and it just made my day to have him attach to me so quickly. I love family.

And now let's talk about this cutie! Keagan is so handsome!

And I think he may just follow in his big brother's footsteps as far as how much he loves his Auntie Marcie! :D

Summer Lovin!

A quick recap of the Doe Fam's summer so far!

We went to our first Rough Rider game

We visited the beautiful northwest

We celebrated the 4th of July with lots of fireworks and family

The Oregon Coast

We have done our fair share of vacations to the Pacific Ocean. We love the warm sunshine, the sand, the beach games, the waves and water... this trip to the Pacific was a little different. We went to the Oregon coast with the whole Doe clan. This trip consisted of lots of wind, fog and hot chocolate! :) It was a welcomed change to the Texas heat.

We did walk to the beach one time all bundled up, but we spent most of our time indoors, playing games and enjoying family time :)

Thank you Doe family for such a great week. We loved the walks, ice cream, hikes, laughs, ice cream, fireworks, food, ice cream, talks, ice cream, family devotion, and LOVE. I'm so thankful that I get to be part of this family. You are all so special to us and we can't wait to see what this next year holds.

Emma visits Texas!

My sister, Karie, had a work conference in Dallas at the end of June. We decided that it would be fun fun fun to have her bring Emma and leave her at our house with Sophia. We've all come to accept that life is just different now. No more 2 minute drive to each other's houses, seeing each other every day, no more playing together after church,

BUT now we get to do week long sleepovers!!

About two days into our adventure, I started to realize that I was going to have mix things up if these girls were going to still like each other at the end of our trip. There was a lot of "Nu-uh", "Uh-huh", "Nu-uh", "Uh-huh"... You get the idea. So we took a little girls road trip down to Waco to see Auntie Ashie and hang out with the Swartz family. And we got to show Emma Baylor. :) It was perfect little break and we had a fun night!

Karie's group had tickets to the Frisco Rough Riders baseball game and we got to go meet her out one night. It was also Micah's first baseball game!

Father's Day

I know it was three weeks ago,

but I'm gonna do some bragging on my babies' daddy anyways.

Since we've moved away from lots of family and friends, we've had a lot of time with just our little family of four. There's a lot more dinners around the table, bed time stories, and family adventures.

Sophia's favorite time is Sunday mornings. Anytime she has a dress on, she likes to dance with her "prince". Daddy bows and she curtsies, then she holds onto her dress with one hand and holds tight to daddy with the other arm. They dance while one of them sings "Once Upon a Dream". It's pretty cute. I try really hard not to let my mind go to 20 years down the road, but it's kinda hard not to. She knows how much her daddy loves her and it makes me love him more too.

Now that Micah is finally walking, he's working on all of his athletic skills. I know it's always been a dream of Jared's to play catch with his little boy. I love watching both of them light up as they lightly toss a ball back and forth. This week in WA, Micah showed of his football skills a bit too. Jared was so proud of his little, next generation QB1.

We're so thankful for Jared. He works so hard and does so much for our family. And most importantly he loves all of us with a beautiful, unconditional,

Jesus-like love.
