Sophia is FOUR!

Sophia turned four! She had her usual breakfast (waffle with peanut butter, syrup and a little syrup on the side "to dip") on our "You are Special Today" plate.
We took cookies to school for snack time and they sang to her.
We made Angry Birds cupcakes for her bike riding birthday in the park
Grama Doe and Boopa gave her a bike for her birthday! We went to Toys R Us to try em out and she picked out a very special Tinkerbelle bike.

They also sent a princess helmet and a shirt that says "I Love my Bike" :)
Side Note: Grama Doe is the BEST at themed gifts for the kids
Unfortunately, even though it hadn't rained in Texas for months,
a storm rolled through so we had to move the party indoors at our house.
I don't think she minded one bit. And now she has these cool rain boots from Ashie, Katy and Emily so she can face the elements if it happens again.
Happy Birthday Sweet Sophia!

First trip to the Dentist

Yea, I know. She's four. She should have gone two years ago. Don't judge me. ;)

Sophia had a count down chain for her trip to the dentist. She couldn't wait to go and have clean teeth. She was awesome (duh). They gave her some sunglasses to wear and pulled the TV up so she could watch Tom and Jerry. "Mom, Tom and Jerry are hilarious." Both the dentist and tech said she was the best patient they had all week. She loved the spit sucker and got to get a prize from the treasure chest when she was finished. She's great at brushing and everything looks great!
Now we're saving up for mom's trip to the dentist.
I can assure you that I will not be as easy as Sophia.

First Day of School Success!

Now that the church has officially launched it's time for blogging catch up! Here we go!

Sophia's first day of school was a raging success! At the Meet the Teachers night she met Tito, the class Tiger. He gets sent home each Wednesday with someone in the class and has adventures that the student is supposed to "write" about in a journal. She carried him around the whole night and was a little sad to leave him behind.

Well, guess who got to take Tito home the very first day of school?! She was so excited.
Tito got to ride home in Micah's car seat because brother was home napping.
We stopped at Sonic to get a special drink and went home to recap the day.
They learned the "Rules of the Classroom" rap and each got some sweet shades. She has some moves that go along with the rap.
They had a treasure hunt to learn where everything was in the school.
Sophia got a cool map.
We're now a few weeks into "school". She knows the drill. Helps me pack her lunch and snack, packs up her backpack, grabs her nap mat and says, "Let's not run late mom!" Once we get there, she puts eveything in it's spot: nap mat, lunch, snack, water botle, backpack, lunch... finds her name for attendance, walks in and never turns around to say bye.
Safe to say she loves it there.
We're pretty proud of her.

First Day of School!

This is how she woke up.
I told you she couldn't wait to get that last link off the wall ;)

Our Sophia, all ready for her first day of school.

And with the nap mat of course...

Here she is in from of her classroom

In she goes!

Didn't even turn around.

See you in a few hours my sweet Sophia!

In the meantime it's just me and this guy in the quiet house.

Micah Cuteness

We closing in on 17 months for this big guy.
Just wanted to share some of his fun personality before the 18 month check up.

He thinks making this face is really funny.
He does it every single time we put him in the car seat for some reason.
This was at the park.
He couldn't walk on the blanket and kept falling... also funny.
Jared learned the hard way that he can do this...
He went to take out the trash and Micah locked him out!
Luckily Sophia was inside and let daddy back in the house!

He has free reign in the pantry now... or so he thinks.
Cheerios= pure excitement.
Love how he closes the door every time.
And how he grunts at me when he want something.

And his favorite word... Uh-Oh.
(This video is pre-haircut)
Still waiting for more teeth (so far only 4).
Trying to get him to say his sister's name... would even settle for So-So
He makes me laugh every day.

Twas the night before the first day of school

Well. It's here.
Sophia's first day of school.
This is our countdown chain.
She can't even wait to wake up and take the last link of her wall.
Be still my heart.
Here we go.
We got to see her two teachers and her classroom last week.

She picked out her Barbie back pack and Hello Kitty lunch box.
We searched the world over to find a nap mat. I think this must be a Texas thing. That's what I'm telling myself at least. We finally found one in the cutest market place in Frisco Square today. Since we didn't have time for embroidery, we ironed on some sparkly letters for her.
Here she is trying it out...
One of the first weeks we moved here, she asked Jared and I if we would just "take her to school and then leave." She's finally getting her wish tomorrow! Look for Sophia's First Day pics soon. No doubt she will be darling in her backpack!

FFC work day at BGC

One week before our second preview service we took a few days and helped the Boys and Girls Club get all spiffed up for their new school year. We painted and cleaned and opened all of the new chairs!
 Every one helped out!

The kids made good use of all of the boxes that the chairs were delivered in. Tunnels galore!

We're so thankful for the people we have met so far in Frisco, who are committed to serving this community and committed to Frisco Fields Church! it's an honor to serve with them.
